View of the old Clubhouse facility

Founded on September 22, 1953, the Lauderdale Isles Yacht Club has been an integral part of the Lauderdale Isles neighborhood for over six decades, providing residents with a gathering place to celebrate events, reunions and special occasions, while sharing the bonds of friendship, camaraderie and community fellowship.

On July 1, 1989, the Yacht Club building burned to the ground threatening the club’s future existence. During the ensuing years, a dedicated group of members diligently worked to keep the spirit and purpose of the club alive, eventually rebuilding the club’s membership and its facility.

Yacht Clubs Burgees

In September of 2012 the Lauderdale Isles Yacht & Tennis Club (LIYTC) merged with the Circle Yacht Club (CYC) and changed its name to Lauderdale Isles Yacht Club (LIYC) as it is known by today.

As of November 2016 the facility is under new ownership, the club organization is a separate not for profit entity.  Unfortunately, due to low membership, the club is not able to cover rent payments for the property and has become a “mobile club” effective January 2018,  at least until the club finds a new home or works out an arrangement with the new management of the facility.  As a result, members will enjoy much reduced dues, the club will meet at various locations for meetings and events and we will continue to arrange boating events for members.  please stay tuned or contact us for details as we work to revive the yacht club tradition.

Please see the Calendar for upcoming events.
