First annual Lauderdale Isles holiday boat parade

The Lauderdale isles yacht club would like to invite all our neighbors to join us in our first annual Isles holiday boat parade.  Saturday, December 16th after sunset.

Based on interest and feedback to previous posts here are some of the details.

* The event is free and open to all neighbors in the Isles.

* We invite boaters with boats under 21ft to join is in the parade (to be able to enter and turn around in the canals)

* The parade will begin shortly after sunset at the yacht club.   we suggest arriving early to prepare.

* Boaters are encouraged to decorate their boats.  at the end of the parade we will vote on the best decorated boat.  a prize will be awarded.

* We would also like to vote on the best decorated back yard.  prize will be awarded also. depending on participation.

* The parade will travel east after sunset down the new river and then return entering each of the canals,  Santa will be on the lead boat handing out candy to kids along the way.  Boaters are encouraged to also hand out candy but lets please keep the canals clean.

* At the end of the parade, free hot chocolate will be served and we will vote on the best decorated boat and yard.   depending on registrations food and drinks may be available for purchase.

* To participate, please RSVP or email liytclub@gmail.com.   include the boat size and number of seats you have for extra folks as many will join us.

* Don’t have a boat?,  RSVP or email liytclub@gmail.com to let us know how many you are, we will try to accommodate as many as possible on participating boats.

* WE need volunteers,  please RSVP if you can help out at the dock, along the route or after the parade.

Join us for this informal fun event.  we hope this grows and maybe add a land parade also in coming years.
